The pieces |
An assembled puzzle |
Objective: Make a solid cube out of the seven pieces. There is only a single solution.
Click here for a discussion on variations of Seven L-ements and why this particular set of pieces was chosen. Warning: this discussion exposes you to the solution hints!
Click here for the related Eight L-ements puzzle that also has only one solution.
Other simpler problems are given by trying to create a solid cuboid (a.k.a. rectangular parallelpiped) out of subsets of the pieces. Five pairs of pieces can form simple cuboids. (Can you find them?) The following table gives all remaining sets making cuboids, the number of solutions (not counting rotations and reflections) and the cuboid dimensions.

I really hate to give out solutions, but if you really, really must have my solution sheet, then click here. Before looking looking at the solution, however, you might first try looking at a some of the hints given here.
